In fact, the subsidiary has less than 10 grand left in the bank.HMRC takes a very dim view of charities that use donations to keep insolvent subsidiary companies afloat.It is clear that the founder's judgement has been impaired by his conflicts of interest, namely the fact that his civil partner and her son work for the subsidiary company.Both the subsidiary and the charity have been operating at a loss for the last 3 years, and the charity has burned through half of its cash reserves. Money that was donated for the relief of injured servicemen, not for speculative investments by its trustees.
